LAND MANAGEMENT

Living off the land is a way of life that that requires dedication and hard work. We believe taking care of the land we are entrusted with is one of life's greatest honors. We strive to work with mother nature and steward the land to the best of our ability. When we take care of the land, the land takes care of us.

The ranch and farm ground are situated north of Stratton, Colorado in Kit Carson County. Considered part of the High Plains the landscape consists of wide-open spaces, rolling hills and flat lands. Spring Creek runs through the headquarters of the ranch and meets up with the Republican River - even though neither are home to live water.

CATTLE
The Livingston Ranch runs a commercial Black Angus cow/calf operation. Practices that are observed within the ranch to make it progressive and sustainable include intense rotational grazing, GAP 4 Certification, and an extensive AI program. All the work is in an effort to provide quality beef to consumers.

FARMING
Livingston Farms, LLC raises corn, milo & wheat. The Livingston's work closely together to manage all things farm related, but it truly takes the entire family to make the farm a success. We believe in creating sustainable practices and utilizing technology and information to the best of our ability.
High efficiency and growth are what we strive for.

WILDLIFE
The ranch is home to many species of wildlife - Mule deer, Whitetail deer, pheasants, quail, coyotes, turkeys and various other animals. We believe wildlife is an important part of a healthy ecosystem. Consideration of wildlife is accounted for with ranch and farm practices, such as how fields are entered, and cattle are rotated. Hunting is an important part of keeping our deer herds healthy. We are pleased to be partnered with Nine Mile Guest Ranch who handles all of the bookings for available hunts.
